Transplant dad urges people to register and donate organs

Rob Hodgkiss, a father of two who owes his life to a heart transplant, is encouraging people to register on the NHS Organ Donor Register to try and help save people’s lives. Mr. Hodgkiss recently won seven medals at the European Heart and Lung Transplant Games, at Apeldoorn, in the Netherlands and is celebrating his winning performances.

Investment in Dental Services Confirmed by NHS Bolton

NHS Bolton has confirmed that a £200,000 cash injection will be given to improve dental services in the area every year. The extra funding will allow dentists in Bolton to take on an extra 2,700 patients at their practices.

Accountants’ new website features ‘Mr Bentley’

Bentleys Chartered Accountants in Bolton are enlisting an animated stick man to help boost business. “Mr Bentley” has been created by webvideo producers Videobaby.co.uk and will help customers navigate the company’s new site. Mr Bentley will be used to deliver message about the services that the accountants offer in a novel way. Claire Andow, senior producer of Videobaby said that adding videos on business sites was an effective tool and offered some creativity.

Guest house owner ‘highly commended’

The owner of a bed and breakfast in Bolton has only just missed out on a top award. Meadowcroft Barn Bed and Breakfast in Bury Road had been nominated in the guest accommodation of the year accommodation with Visit England, the national tourist board. The owner was delighted to be nominated and invited to the glitzy ceremony in Leicester, but unfortunately she lost to a castle in Cornwall and a guest house in Lancaster.

Dream comes true for young panto fan

Pantomime stars made an eight-year-old girl’s day when they heard how upset she was about losing her prized show programme. Sophie Maybury went to see the Albert Halls pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Amazing Bears and loved it so much the programme became her prized possession.
