NHS dentist waiting list can put patients at risk

An increasing number of patients are being treated by their GP for dental problems because they do not have access to an NHS dentist in Bolton. Deane Clinic in Horsfield Street carried out a survey of 1,130 patients and found that 65% have no access to dental care.

State of Children’s teeth in the area shocking

Dentists in Bolton may be surprised and shocked to hear that new research has revealed that nearly half of town’s children have dental decay. One fifth of Bolton mothers have admitted that their children only brush their teeth once a day and one in seven mothers say their children have at least three fillings.

Transplant dad urges people to register and donate organs

Rob Hodgkiss, a father of two who owes his life to a heart transplant, is encouraging people to register on the NHS Organ Donor Register to try and help save people’s lives. Mr. Hodgkiss recently won seven medals at the European Heart and Lung Transplant Games, at Apeldoorn, in the Netherlands and is celebrating his winning performances.

Investment in Dental Services Confirmed by NHS Bolton

NHS Bolton has confirmed that a £200,000 cash injection will be given to improve dental services in the area every year. The extra funding will allow dentists in Bolton to take on an extra 2,700 patients at their practices.
