Cardiff University PhD student Julie Dumont is planning to raise money for charity by doing a handstand every day for a year. Julie is hoping to raise money to build a playground in Uganda, after she helped with a similar scheme in February. Julie joined an Australian couple who were doing a handstand every day throughout February.

Cardiff’s Olympic celebrations includes Damon Albarn’s new musical group

Guerilla concerts will be performed across Cardiff this year by a musical collective founded by former Blur frontman Damon Albarn as part of the capital’s Olympic celebrations. The Africa Express will comprise of a train filled with dozens of celebrated and up and coming African and Western musicians. They will be just one part of Cardiff’s celebrations for the London 2012 Olympics.

Cardiff city centre water-ski and wakeboard park planned

New plans have been revealed for a water-ski and wakeboard park in Cardiff City Centre. A 735-metre-long cable-tow water ski system is to be built at the East Bute Dock next to Butetown’s Atlantic Wharf housing development.

Architect has plans for Cardiff Bay built… in China

An architect who applied to build a world-class opera house in Cardiff Bay only to have the plan rejected, has finally found a home for her work in Guangzhou, China. 16 years after applying for the development of the cultural building in Cardiff Bay, Zaha Hadid can now see her dream realised. The architect applied in 1995 as part of the Millennium project and many were shocked that her idea was rejected.
