New Role For Councillor Means New Figure
A city councillor had to go on a serious health kick when he took over the role for young people. Coventry City Councillor Joe Clifford decided he would have to lose weight when he became the cabinet member for children and young people. He started his health campaign in September and has managed to lose four stone.

A giant yellow bear was seen wandering around the streets during Coventry’s free Godiva Festival. The bear was part of a fundraising campaign by the festival to help a new hospice for babies in the city. Festival organisers said as the festival was free, they felt visitors would be happy to donate to the local charity.

Pensioner David Monks is preparing to meet Royalty for the second time in his life after being named on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. David, 65, will be given the MBE later this year for his services to blind and partially sighted people. He has devoted his time to helping others for 30 years after suffering from a speech impediment himself.
