Pupils taught to switch off

Pupils will be learning to ‘switch off’ after their schools signed up to a scheme to be more green. High Wycombe’s Cressex Community School, Claytons Primary School and The Disraeli School and Children’s Centre are taking part in a county council pilot scheme to try to cut carbon emissions and reduce energy costs in their buildings. A total of nine schools in the county are taking part in the scheme.

Drama student lands top modelling role

A drama student has been given her first taste of fame after being chosen as the face of her local shopping centre. Amber Young, 18, of Walters Ash, will now model on the website of the Eden shopping centre in High Wycombe after winning a contest during the centre’s Autumn Fashion Show.The former Wycombe High School pupil is now studying drama at Portsmouth University as well as her new role as Eden’s Top Model.
