Yorkshire Pudding test for Countryfile presenters

Yorkshire’s most famous delicacy has been put to the test at an East Yorkshire restaurant for the BBC’s Countryfile programme. The experiments at The Star @ Sancton were conducted to discover whether the traditional methods of making Yorkshire puddings are still the best. The popular show pitted science against tradition for the televised cook-off.

Video sunglasses help cyclist keep dangerous drivers in his sights

Cyclist Simon Mason was unable to take any action after he was knocked off his bike on the way to work because he didn’t get the cars registration number. He is now making sure that that doesn’t happen again by wearing high-tech video sunglasses that will catch out inconsiderate drivers. The industrial chemist has been posting videos of dangerous drivers online and even passing them onto the police.

Demolishment Plans for ‘Historic’ fish smoking house

One of the most prominent reminders of Hull’s fishing industry could soon be gone. The former fish smoking house in Subway Street that stands out among the modern factory units because of its distinctive, steeply sloping roof was last used 30 years ago. At one point there were dozens of smoking houses between the fish docks and Hessle Road, but the future of the o0nly surviving building is in doubt now that city councillors have supported plans to demolish it.
