A woman who was in coma no longer needs a heart transplant after her heart miraculously healed itself. 20 year old Stevie Caffrey had forgotten that she had a baby when she awoke from her coma. She had only spent 10 days with her newborn daughter Maisie when she suddenly collapsed on her bathroom floor.

Walking with the Wounded charity ball announced by Atomic Kitten

Natasha Hamilton, former member of girl group Atomic Kitten, has announced plans for a charity ball in aid of the Walking with the Wounded which celebrates the work and achievements of wounded servicemen. The charity was set up in order to help injured members of the armed forces rehabilitate and rebuild their lives. In 2011, Prince Harry joined the Walking with the Wounded team as they trekked to the North Pole.

Ss Peter and Paul church could reopen 24 hours a day

The landmark Ss Peter and Paul church in the Wirral could be open around the clock as a 24 hour beacon of worship. The church, which is known as the “Dome of Home” closed in August 2008 but following a high-profile campaign that went as high up as the Vatican it re-opened.

Roman statue collection ‘could be sold by nuns’

A collection of marble Roman sculptures could be taken from Merseyside and sold under a planning application to Sefton Council. The sculptures make up part of Liverpool’s World Museum collection which is the biggest of its kind outside of London and they are currently housed in the Grade II-listed Ince Blundell Hall.

Rafa Benitez supports Hillsborough families with donation

Rafa Benitez, the former Liverpool FC boss, has made another substantial donation to the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG). The popular manager, who had previously pledged £96,000 to the group when he left Liverpool and became the manager of Inter Milan, has now donated £2,800 to the charity through the Montse Benitez Foundation, his wife’s charity.

Wartime evacuees reunion

Members of a family, who were evacuated during the Second World War from Liverpool to Shropshire, have made an emotional journey back to the rural village where they once lived. The three Devin brothers, John, Martin, and Nicholas, returned to Worthen 66 years after they first arrived there. They stayed in different houses in Shropshire between 1942 and 1945.

Tunnels Used For Emergency Trial

Two people have been ‘rescued’ from Liverpool’s Williamson Tunnels in a major mock-up operation designed as a training session. Fire and ambulance crews took part in the pretend emergency at the Paddington entrance to the tunnels in the grounds of the Liberty Park student village at Edge Hill.
