A Yoga teacher who teaches children as young as six months old to stretch and relax has just been nominated for a top award. Dai Alford, who lives in Enfield, has been nominated in the What’s On 4 Little Ones? Awards for the Most Outstanding Activity Leader for the under-fives (south of England).

Gemma Hosking and Cristina Rochford-Gardiner have become passionate fundraisers since their friend was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. They managed to raise £11,000 for charity in March when they staged a comedy night and now they are trying to find people and businesses that will help them raise money at a night of dining and entertainment.

Norman, of Grange Park Avenue, Winchmore, was awarded the Stephen McAleese award for his work over 18 years setting up the east London branch of Headway, a charity that helps people who have suffered brain injuries.
