Solo 24-hour rowing challenge completed by fundraiser
A 52 year old father has told of his ordeal battling 10ft waves and terrible weather conditions as he manned a solo rowing boat in order to raise money for charity. Richard Hudson, spent 24 hours in the water to raise money for the Jeremiah’s Journey charity. Richard covered around 70 miles and rowed around the Mewstone and along the River Yealm.

A printers in Plymouth has donated one of its high-tech models to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Citrus Digital heard that the charity needed a new photocopier so it offered to donate £3,000 worth of equipment and their considerable expertise for free.

Learner drivers will benefit from a major new road safety campaign that is being supported by Police, local councils, the fire service and approved driving schools in Plymouth. The Honest Truth aims to spread the message of safe driving to people who are learning to drive. The campaign organisers have worked with local driving instructors and the local authorities in order to teach learner drivers about the risks there are on the roads.

SWLaw Solicitors in Plymouth are filling their coffee cups to launch a Free Wills month for Macmillan Cancer Support as they take part in the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The law firm that is based at Lee Mill near Ivybridge are inviting people to join them for tea and cake as they launch their scheme which will run throughout September. Solicitors will draw up a free standard will for anyone that contacts them and quotes ‘Macmillan’.
