Young fan in hospital visited by Royals

Royals players made 10-year-old fan Matthew Pike’s Christmas when they visited him for a second year in a row in hospital. Matthew, who is a big fan of the Reading football team, is being treated for leukaemia and met the players during their visit to the Royal Berkshire Hospital children’s ward.

Bid For City Status in Reading

A crowd of supporters waved off Reading’s bid for city status when it was transported by train to the Cabinet Office in London. Residents, community groups, business leaders and members of voluntary organisations gathered at Reading Train Station to wish good luck to Reading’s latest bid to become a city.
