Students get gory work experience

College students were given a taste of life on a real film set when they were asked to take part in the making of a zombie movie. Media make-up students from Rotherham College of Arts and Technology were asked to help out with the make-up on the locally produced horror film Dying Breed. Students were also given roles as walking dead extras during the filming in the Chapeltown area.

Call centre staff get on their bikes

Call centre staff have borrowed bikes to become the first to take part in a council Cycle to Work scheme. A total of 65 people signed up to take part in the scheme to get more people travelling to work on two wheels. The Ventura call centre staff were each given a bike to use for a four-week trial period. They were also given full cycle training and support. Town becomes a giant art gallery

Rotherham town centre has been turned into a permanent giant art gallery featuring work by Monet, Da Vinci, and Van Gogh as well as local artists and schoolchildren. Around 60 pieces of work have been recreated into giant versions and installed across the town to create the outdoor exhibition Gallery Town.
