Tall ship trips will set sail from the Southend Pier as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The tall ship Atlantis will be at the pier from 1st June until the 5th June. There will be two trips a day on the 2nd and 3rd of June at 9am and 5pm and one at the 4th at 9am. The journeys will last for three hours and ship lovers will have the chance to go on the water and explore the ship which was built in 1905.
Each journey will include an open ship session where those aboard can look around the vessel.
The borough council’s head of enterprise, tourism and environment, Anita Thornberry, said: “The Atlantis is a hugely-popular attraction all round – whether to view from afar, to climb aboard during open ship sessions, or, to set sail on. We are very lucky to have the vessel in Southend over this celebratory weekend, as I am sure it will bring residents and visitors flocking.”
The trips will cost £1 per person and is free for under-12s. If you would like to book a place on the sailing trips call 01702 618747. The trip is not suitable for under 12s.
