Serious accident doesn’t stop Jessica Frankish from reaching finals

A Redbourn local has reached the finals of the Miss Hertfordshire competition just three months after she was nearly killed in a car accident. Jessica Frankish had to use a Zimmer frame to walk down the catwalk at the competition after she broke several bones including her hip, legs and wrist when she was involved in the accident in December.

Little Princess Trust receives donation from teenager

A charitable schoolgirl from St Albans has cut off her long hair so that it can be made into a wig for someone suffering from cancer. Lois Bosatta donated her long locks to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.

Firewalk by Saracens St Albans raises money for hospice

Saracens rugby players and staff from the club bared their soles in St Albans, all in the name of charity. The charitable participants walked barefoot over fiery embers to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis which care for people with terminal illnesses. The rugby player put their years of dodging tackles and quick footwork to use as they made their way across the burning embers at Woollams playing fields, Harpenden Road.
