Talented youngsters showed off their skills with a unique theatre charity event.
The One Night Only show was staged at the St Ives Theatre in an aim to raise money for the town’s youth theatre company Kidz R Us.
Youngsters and other local entertainers pooled their talents for the spectacular, which was produced and directed by 17-year-old Kidz R Us member Jason Sims.
The evening concert included performances by solo singers and groups, and included hits from well-known musicals such as Hairspray, Grease, Chicago, Starlight Express and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
There were also swing, rock and roll, pop and R&B songs performed as well as an illusionist act.
The aim of the night was to give less experienced local people the chance to work alongside and perform on stage with more practiced entertainers, whilst raising money for the Kidz R Us charity at the same time.
Jason, who was praised for his talent recently for his role as Abanazar in the theatre’s production of Aladdin, said: “’It was a lively evening with amazing soloists and singer-songwriters, and big chorus numbers including some major dance routines.
“It’s been a real team effort with a lot of thought being put into the running order, staging, lighting and costumes.”
There was also a bar and raffle on the night, which took place at the end of February.
Kidz is a registered charity dedicated to developing young people through the performing arts, and helping to increase their confidence and maturity. Hundreds of young people perform for the group and take part in its workshop weeks and regular classes.
