Residents, shoppers and school children came out in force to enjoy the Newton Abbey Carnival which included a procession of floats and sports demonstrations, as well as food and goods from charity stalls.
The event began with a charity duck race at Steppes Meadow with the launching of 1,500 ducks into the river.
Thankfully the weather was pleasant so the event was well attended.
Natalie Hicks, from the Newton Abbot Carnival Committee, said “The Tae Kwon Do, the Music Mill and the gymnastics club got the crowds going” and added that the event has “definitely grown in importance over the years”.
