Clubs, shops and hotels in Bournemouth are gearing up for the town’s seventh Tourism Awards which will take place in November.
Hundreds of guests are expected to attend the Victorian circus themed awards ceremony which will be held at the 02 Academy in Boscombe on Thursday 22nd November.
Local businesses will be recognised in a range of categories including large/medium hotel of the year, small hotel or guest accommodation of the year, best shopping experience and best evening experience.
There will also be other awards for tourism attraction experience of the year, best eatery, top self-catering, camping and caravanning establishment of the year, tourism marketing initiative of the year and outstanding customer service.
Other accolades for Bournemouth businesses will include tourism transport of the year, contribution to international education and the conference industry and best business experience of the year.
Mark Smith, Bournemouth’s director of tourism said: “The Tourism Awards launch was incredibly impressive and I was really pleased by the amount of businesses that attended in support of the town’s tourism industry.”
Jon Weaver, the borough’s marketing and events manager said: “This year we will be having much more of an awards party atmosphere; an opportunity to celebrate the industry whether you are a winner or not.
“Guests will be transported back in time as we transform the O2 Academy to its former state as one of Dorset’s most historic entertainment venues.”
