The County Hotel

Located on Rainsford Road, one of Chelmsford’s arterial roads, The County Hotel is a four-star hotel that is designed for the business traveller or the holidaymaker in Essex. Situated in the quiet, yet modern town of Chelmsford, The County Hotel is an independent hotel that has won the coveted AA Rosette Award and is recognized as the ‘Best Large Hotel’ in the Essex Tourism Awards. The hotel is also the recipient of the 2011 HRS award for Excellent Social Responsibility.

The hotel’s 50 rooms are decorated tastefully in a pleasing combination of Peach, Navajo White, and Cadet. The hotel specialises in conferences, weddings and other events. The Essex, Kent, Suffolk, and Hertford room are designed for corporate events ranging from small meetings for four people to a training session or board meeting for up to 24 people. The Crystal ballroom is the main event room and seats 150 people, typically used for weddings and other large events.

The County Hotel is located in the heart of Chelmsford and is a short distance from Hylands House and Park, a restored country manor. The Shire Hall courthouse and Chelmsford Museum are also places of interest. The historic village of Pleshey is about 20 minutes drive from the hotel and while the hotel retains the charm and dignity of a stately country stay, it offers modern business facilities too.
