Dental team from Plymouth visit Kenya

Devon and Plymouth dentists have visited Kisimu in Kenya to provide basic dental care for around 800 people. The group of ten dental professionals went to the village, which is located on the shores of Lake Victoria with the Smilestar Charity. The charity was established by Dr Mitesh Badiani, lead clinician at the Plymouth Centre of Dental Excellence.

‘£800k boost for economy’ with Methodist event

Businesses and hotels in Plymouth have benefited from an injection of more than £800,000 into the local economy due to a Methodist conference. It is estimated that the 2,000 delegates who attended the Plymouth Pavilions event pumped £815,110 into the economy.

£83million Plymouth Pavilions deal signed

The boss of Plymouth Argyle, James Brent has signed a deal to take over ownership of Plymouth Pavilions from the city council. The new contract will see an £83million investment into the area including new homes, hotels and an extended Arena for the city centre.

New hair salon plans

Jobs could be created if plans for a new ‘high-class’ hairdressers in Plymouth are approved. The owner of the already established Envy Hair Design in Plymstock, Tracie Gunningham, is hoping to expand her business and create a new branch at the New Cooperage building at Royal William Yard in the developing yard.
