Durham Cathedral and Castle visitor centre is finished

On June 21st the Durham Cathedral and Castle visitor centre was opened with the Durham Polyphony student choir and a photography exhibition by Andrew Heptinstall. The centre has an outdoor seating area and a ten-minute film on the history of the Castle and Cathedral. It opens on the 25th anniversary of Durham being declared a world heritage site. Success in regional disability athletics championship for Durham pupil

Three youngsters from Belmont School Community Arts College in Durham have achieved extraordinary results in a regional championship held in Gateshead International Stadium. Jonny Wilkinson, Abbey Anderson and Danny Baker all won their respective events and Jonny then went on to win gold in another event.They were presented with their medals and got to meet Paralympic Champion, Hazel Robson.
