Bid to restore city status
A campaign is being run to restore Perth’s city status. Perth is known by many as a city, but it officially lost its city status in 1975, during a reorganisation of local government. A bid has been made by Perth and Kinross Council to restore the title next year as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
