Brochure Helps Holiday Parents

A brochure has been published to try to help parents keep their children amused during the school summer holidays.

The Chase It! summer holiday brochure has been compiled by Cannock Chase Council to give parents plenty of information about fun days out, sporting activities, arts and crafts, special events and more during the summer months. It also includes plenty of activities organised by the council.

Cllr Christine Mitchell, Cannock Chase Council’s culture and sport portfolio holder, said: “I know that the long six-week break can be a real headache for parents as they try to find interesting and safe activities for their children, so we’ve really laid on a fantastic programme of activities this year.

“There really is something for everyone, with some great days out, sporting activities, arts and theatre and special events. Our summer holiday activities are always really popular so I’d urge parents to book places as soon as possible. Here’s to a fun-filled summer!”

The Chase It! brochure will be available at council offices, libraries, leisure centres and other public places across the district. It’s also available to view online.

The council’s play rangers will also be out and about across the district during the holidays, hoping to inspire families.

Activities on offer include a Dr Doolittle summer workshop at the Prince of Wales Centre, in Cannock, and sporting activities at the Chase Leisure Centre.

Days out that have been included in the brochure include Waterworld, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Shugborough, a London theatre trip, Alton Towers, ten-pin bowling, Tamworth Snowdome and West Midlands Safari Park.
