Students quiz Archbishop

Students were given the chance to quiz the Rt Hon Dr Rowan Williams when he paid a visit to their university. The Archbishop of Canterbury took part in a question and answer session during his visit to Canterbury Christ Church University as part of its jubilee celebrations.

Council plans summer of fun

A summer of fun is being planned in Herne Bay to celebrate the reopening of the pier. Canterbury City Council has been working with the Herne Bay Pier Trust to come up with a programme of events when the neighbouring town’s pier reopens in June.

Tigers made to jump for their meat

Tigers are being forced to make a leap for their lunch at the Howletts Wild Animal Park, thanks to a new feeding contraption. Keepers and research officers at the park, on the outskirts of Canterbury, invented a new feeding system for the big cats because they wanted to encourage more natural behaviour.
