Over £3,000 donated to charities by Chester accountants

A firm of accountants in Chester has been thanked for their incredible donations to two charities which add up to £3,600.

Champion Accountants have presented cheques to The Hospice of the Good Shepherd and BIRD (Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Development).

The charitable company based on Watergate Row also donated a further £1,800 to Help for Heroes.

Amanda Le Bretton, who is the fundraising and marketing manager for the hospice, said: “What a wonderful achievement from Champion Accountants, we are absolutely delighted.

“Their donation will go towards our specialised services at the centre of excellence in Backford.”

The accountancy firm raised the money through their “40 for 40 Fundraiser”; a yearlong fundraising effort that planned to raise £40,000 for charity in celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary.

The company staged a range of events including the “Champion Century Cycle Challenge”, a one day 100 mile bike ride where each of the five Champion offices were visited. This event raised £22,000 for the 40 for 40 Fundraiser.

The Chester based staff who took part in the bike ride were Andrew Hopwood, Mike Jackson, Paulette Thomas and Ben Murray.
