Up and coming band Suburban Dirts are looking forward to a good summer after releasing their first album and signing up to two festivals.
The Hoddesdon band have now pledged to release one album every year after the launch of their first album, also called Suburban Dirts.
The group are starting to make a big name for themselves on the local scene and have high hopes for the future.
Lead singer and guitarist John Wheatley, 31, said: “It’s going to be a really good summer – and a busy one as well.
“It will be good to get out and play to big crowds and have the album available too.
“We recorded the album in one eight-hour session and it came out better than expected.
“We’re proud to get the album out. It’s all our own stuff that we wrote in the first few months we got together, with one blues cover, Need Your Love So Bad.
“Our second album will be similar to our first, but hopefully even better.”
The band, which has only been going for a year, will be playing at music festival Rock in the Priory, in Ware, and the Secret Garden Party, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, in July.
They also play a monthly gig at the Corn Exchange in Hertford, where they are supported by other local groups.
John said: “We’re getting a bit of a name for ourselves and get the best and local talent.”
The other band members are lead guitarist Dave Moyes, bassist Chris Varley and drummer Dave Austin.
