Fostering achievements of Dollis Hill couple recognised

A couple from Dollis Hill who have opened their home up to foster children for the last ten years have been awarded a long service award for all of their hard work and dedication. Velma and Jim Dunne were given their special award at the annual award ceremony for The National Fostering Agency (NFA).

OBE for North West London army officer

Colonel Anthony Ian Denison, an army officer from North West London has been rewarded for his 34 years of voluntary work with an OBE. Colonel Denison is the former commandant of the Middlesex and North West London Army Cadets, and has been working for decades with children and young people.

Jim Carter backs Boris Bikes for Hampstead and Highgate

Jim Carter, the star of Downtown Abbey, has joined the campaign to get the Mayor of London to bring his bicycle scheme to Hampstead and Highgate. Mr Carter, who plays butler Carson in the smash hit show, lives in West Hampstead and believes that the rental bikes are a “wonderful invention” that should be extended from King’s Cross to the rest of the Camden area in North West London.

Stonebridge Safer Neighbourhood Team sponsored by IKEA

A Swedish furniture company has joined the fight to drive out criminal behaviour in North West London. IKEA in Brent Park has sponsored a car for the next 12 months that will be given to Stonebridge Safer Neighbourhoods Teams (SNT).
