Tinie Tempah, the popular South London rapper has been named by GQ magazine as Britain’s best-dressed man.
The magazine gave the rapper the accolade and described him as having a “true passion for elegance and proportions.”
However, North West London rapper Dappy didn’t fare as well in the style stakes and was voted fourth worst dressed man. The 24 year old from Camden was one place above footballer turned commentator, Robbie Savage.
David Beckham moved up the list by three places from 16 in 2011 to 13 this year. The world famous footballer is seen as a style icon and is married to successful fashion designer and former pop star Victoria Beckham.
Sir Elton John is listed in 20th place on the best dressed list because he is “a national treasure” and for “spending enough on fashion to clear the national debt”. Another elder statesman on the list is Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts who is placed at 22.
Prince Charles was listed in 50th place and described by the magazine as “beyond fashion,” however his son Prince William didn’t make it on the list.
Designer Donatella Versace said: “I have an image of what a British gentleman looks like, and that image finds real expression in Prince Charles. He is beyond fashion – he is an archetype of style.”
