Everywhere has local people who are known throughout the area for bringing laughter and joy to people’s day to day lives. One of those people in Oldham was Vera Smith. She has now been immortalised in a painting that is set to raise money for a cause dear to her heart.

Possible £500,000 price tag for Oldham painting
“One of the finest Victorian nude paintings” which was painted in Oldham, is hoping to fetch around £500,000 at auction. Andromeda, a 142 year old masterpiece by Sir Edward Poynter was once owned by wealthy Victorian cotton merchant Charles Lees of Werneth Park.
