There was a lovely surprise for a pair of tigers at Shepreth Wildlife Park near Royston when Santa visited them with the gift of 75kg of meat.
The tigers, Amber and Rana, who are both 13, certainly did not miss out at Christmas. They had to wrestle their way into some brightly gift-wrapped presents which were placed around their enclosure on Christmas Eve by their keeper elves.
While some of the boxes had meat inside, some were decoys that were filled with herbs to make the tigers work hard for their dinner.
Rebecca Willers from the family-run Shepreth Wildlife Park commented that Santa kept well back with the enthusiastic crowd that gathered to watch the Christmas feeding.
“He would’ve ended up as dinner if he tried to deliver the presents himself,” she said.
