Have a pint – it’s for charity!

Beer lovers are being invited to help charity – by drinking a pint of ale.

New ale Paws for a Pint is being sold in the Sheffield area to raise money for the local RSPCA branch.

Beer maker Bradfield Brewery is donating money to the animal charity for every cask of the ale that is sold.

The new beer, which has been officially recognised by CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale), is being sold in The Nags Head (Loxley), The Plough (Low Bradfield), The Royal hotel (Dungworth), The New Barrack Tavern, Kelham Island Tavern, The Blake, The Sheaf View, The Railway,(Wadsley Bridge) and The Horse & Groom (Gleadless).

Tony Benham animal care manager at the RSPCA Sheffield branch, said: “We look forward to lots of people buying this wonderful, smooth ale and at the same time raising much-needed funds for our centre, which costs around £2,000 to run a day.

“We are very grateful to RSPCA volunteer Julie Swift for her invaluable input and hard work, and of course to Bradfield Brewery for producing this ale especially for us.

“We now hope people will go out and buy this fantastic ale and know that for each pint they buy, money will be raised for RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre.”

John Gill, managing director of Bradfield Brewery, added: “We are pleased to be involved in such a worthy charity. The beer, which is a golden ale, has already proved very popular and we have had a wealth of pre-orders from a lot of pubs in Sheffield and even further afield.

“We are delighted to be helping to raise vital funds for the RSPCA Sheffield Branch by way of a donation for every cask sold.”
