Property developer to give away £1 million

Property developer Charlotte Grobien has nearly reached her target of donating £1 million to charity. Kind-hearted Mrs Grobien, 59, has been heading towards the ambitious fundraising target since 2003, and has so far donated £825,000 to good causes. The Putney resident raises the money by developing properties and selling them and then donating all of her profits to charities in the South London area.

Young people compete for Olympic role

Pupils from Merton are being given a chance to be chosen as a ball boy or girl for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Young people in the South West London borough have been battling it out in a selection process for the opportunity of a lifetime. Teenager takes over for the day

A teenager took control of a £500m budget and three local authority children’s departments for a day. Klaus Visha, 15, of the Bridge Academy, Fulham, spent the day in the shoes of Andrew Christie shared director of children’s services for the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea.
