A parade of circus performers and local schoolchildren will warm up the crowds in Stafford before the Olympic Torch passes through the town.
The circus procession has been organised by Stafford Borough Council to entertain spectators as they line the streets to wait for the Olympic relay in the town on May 30.
Acrobats, dancers, stilt walkers and jugglers will parade along the route, followed by community groups and schoolchildren.
The schoolchildren will be showing off creations they have designed in special art workshops across the borough. They will then be given front row seats to watch the Olympic Flame procession.
The circus parade will begin in Victoria Park, before moving through Mill Bank and left up the High Street towards Market Square. Acrobats will then put on a show.
Councillor Mike Smith, cabinet member for leisure at the council, said: “To see the flame really is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am sure people will not want to miss, and now, to make the day even more memorable, we will have another spectacle which you are unlikely to see again on a Wednesday afternoon in Stafford Borough.
“I am sure the youngsters involved will have an amazing experience and a memory they will keep with them for ever.
“With the Olympic Torch, the Circus parade and the host of activities for the Diamond Jubilee all in the same week, I’d urge people to make sure they put them on their calendars and make a note in their diaries now.”
