Young people have picked their best Brighton businesses in the annual Teen Verdict Awards.
The awards are organised by students at Brighton College in an aim to recognise local organisations and businesses that provide excellent products, services or facilities for younger people in the area.
Teen Verdict managing director Michael Stevenson said: “Too often younger people are overlooked as consumers.
“Many young people have experienced poor customer service. But young people are an important part of the local economy so we wanted to award those local organisations and businesses who value the custom of younger people.”
The best businesses under the Best Place to Keep Fit heading were Ocean Wave Pilates, Yellowave, Lagoon Watersports and Active4Less.
The Best Place to Unwind category named Real Patisserie and Sleepy Dinosaur while the Best Quick Meal list was Pizzaface, Real Patisserie, Kemptown Deli, Bagelman, Indian Summer and Fanny’s of Hanover.
The Best Customer Service was provided by Sleepy Dinosaur, Bagelman and Indian Summer and those named under the Best Place to Make Yourself Beautiful heading were Shine Hair and Beauty, Electric Hair and Ockendon Manor.
The Best Place to Spend a Spare £20 list named POD Hair Group and LaserZone, the Best Thrill was Lagoon Watersports and LaserZone and the Wild Card Award went to Sleepy Dinosaur and Indian Summer.
Michael added: “We were delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response the Teen Verdict Awards received from Brighton and Hove’s local businesses. It was nice to see that they can both appreciate the city’s large population of young people as a valuable demographic, as well as support local, enterprising initiatives.
“After extensive judging, we have compiled a shortlist of the businesses we believe offer the best goods, services or facilities to the youth of Brighton and Hove.”
