Six-year-old is modelling star

Six-year-old Adnan Ali has had his first taste of stardom after winning first prize in a national modelling competition.

Adnan, of Burnley, was given the title of Master Supreme at the English Diamonds 2011 show in Manchester.

The cheeky chap proved he was a natural on the catwalk by blowing a kiss to the judges during his performance.

His dad, Ibrahim Ali, owner of The Usha restaurant in Burnley, said: “It is incredible what he has done. We are so proud of him. We couldn’t believe it. It is the first time he has ever done anything like this.

“They said he was so cute. Modelling the casual wear he was like a professional on the job.

“He did the catwalk, took his scarf off, turned around and blew a kiss with a smile and really wowed the judges. They were stunned. The organiser said for a six-year-old to be that good is amazing.

“He is always in front of the mirror now. He has the modelling bug. We hope he will go on to do more.”

Contestants had to model casual and formal wear during the show and then chat to the panel of judges about their interests and hobbies.

Adnan beat 30 other youngsters in the competition to win top prize. His family registered him for the event after a restaurant customer said he had a lovely face and should be a model. He was given a sash, crown and money as his prize.
