An admirable 10 year old swimmer from Clotton near Chester has raised more than £400 for cancer sufferers.
Year 5 pupil Becky Scott-Davies who is a pupil at Duddon St Peter’s Primary School swam 64 lengths of Christleton Sports Centre’s pool.
She was one of the youngest swimmers to take part in the one-mile swimathon that raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sport Relief.
Duncan Goodhew MBE, Olympic gold medallist and swimathon president said: “Becky’s achievement just shows what can be achieved with a little effort.
“It is great to see so many people take on this fantastic fundraising event.”
The centre’s swimathon coordinator, Mat Edwards, added: “Congratulations to all the swimmers who trained so hard to complete their challenge. They should be very proud of their achievement.”
The money that has been raised will go towards providing free Marie Curie nursing care and support for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
