Over 500 local women took to the streets in Enfield to raise money for The Nightingale Hospice and Barnet and Chase Farm’s da Vinci robot appeal. The council backed Enfield Night Hike saw women of all ages walk the 15km
The cabinet member for leisure and culture, Councillor Bambos Charalambous, joined the women to start off and said that he hoped that this would become an annual event.
He said: “This event was a huge success, bigger than we could have imagined with a lot of positive feedback. The women liked the fact that they were helping local charities that would be benefiting local people. They all ended up having a really great time. It was a fantastic event.”
All funds will be split between the Lancaster Road hospice and the hospital appeal which is trying to raise £1.5m to pay for a surgical robot.
