A new shop in Kirkcaldy is hoping to boost local charities, help the town centre, give students some shop training and help the unemployed all at the same time.
The new Relove It! shop, in Whytescauseway, was launched in December and has a lot to live up to.
The shop sells second-hand items to raise money for the Frontline Fife Homelessness Services and Scottish Christian Alliance Ltd.
It is also part of an ongoing initiative to fill any empty units in the town centre, and is based in a former video shop.
Relove It! has also set up a programme to allow it to train local students in retail skills and help unemployed people learn new skills that will help them get back into work.
Rebecca Haack, business development manager, said: “We are very excited about this project.
“What is unique about this scheme is that we are also offering opportunities for people who want to gain retail experience.
“We are setting up a placement programme with Adam Smith College so students on retail courses can come in and get practical experience such as learning how to use tills and creating window displays.
“We can also provide learning for people who may be unemployed to help them get back into work.”
The shop sells second hand clothes, bric-a-brac, books, handmade cards and Fair Trade goods such as purses, jewellery and trinket boxes. Customers who take in quality second-hand clothes from branded stores such as Topshop and Marks and Spencer also receive a discount on their next purchase of second-hand goods.
