There are plans to give a run-down Newmarket stud a makeover.
Brickfields Stud, which is on Exning Road is set to be restored to its former glory after most of the site was bought by Whittlesey-based businessman Gary Robinson.
Mr Robinson has purchased part of the stud in his own name and the rest has been acquired by his company, which is called Robinson Worldwide Solutions.
On the stud are a traditional yard, a 10-bedroom house, 34 boxes and also an American-style barn that has a further 20 boxes.
Mr Robinson said that the site was in desperate need of a bit of attention and that would be the focus at first. He said he loved horseracing and this was a great project to give the company. It would take some effort to get the stud where they wanted it to be.
Despite being a long-term project, it is planned to get the site back in use as soon as is possible. Mr Robinson said they would be looking to rent out boxes in the yard straight away.
