Lung transplant mum defying the odds

A double lung transplant mum who defied all the odds has spoken of the strong will that has kept her going. Jan Rogers, 42, of Rogerstone, received her life saving operation a year ago at the Harefield Hospital transplant centre, in Middlesex. She is now planning a trip to New York.

School wins top award

A Newport primary school has joined an elite group after winning an award for its work with talented pupils. Mount Pleasant Primary School has achieved the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) Cymru Challenge Award for More Able and Talented Pupils for its work in challenging all pupils, including those with high abilities, to achieve their best.
