The winners of Britain’s Got Talent Ashleigh and Pudsey have done Northamptonshire proud as the first ever dog act to win the competition.
17 year old Ashleigh and her dog beat the talent contest favourites Jonathan and Charlotte to be crowned the winners of the ITV reality show.
The duo charmed BGT viewers with their fast paced routine to the Mission Impossible theme.
Ashleigh was in tears when she was told the news by presenters Ant and Dec.
She said: “I just want to say thank you to everyone that voted for me, and I’m just so proud of Pudsey.”
She then cuddled the dog and said: “I love you.”
Ashleigh trained her dog to dance on his hind legs, jump, meander through her legs and even run across the table where the judges were sitting.
Pudsey, a border collie, bichon frise and Chinese crested cross had a fan in fearsone judge Simon Cowell who has admitted that he has a soft spot for dogs.
He described Ashleigh and Pudsey as one of his “favourite ever acts”.
He joked: “I actually think Pudsey is training you now.
“I adore both you. You have got better and better as the competition has progressed and to do what you did in such a short time is a miracle.”
David Walliams told the teen: “I don’t know how long it takes to train Pudsey but it is the third original act we have seen from you which is extraordinary.
“The nation has fallen in love, not just with Pudsey but with you too.”
Ashleigh joked that Pudsey had exhibited some diva behaviour and had started demanding steak dinners.
They will now perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the Queen and have won a cheque for £500,000.
