Slimmer wins national award

Architect Anneltje Hacquebord has been named Career Woman Slimmer of the Year after losing a staggering six stone in ten months.

Anneltje, 34, from Osney Island, Oxford, dropped from a 15st 11lb size 20 to a size 10 after joining her local Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Club on the advice of her doctor.

She was given her award, along with £1,000 cash, from Rosemary Conley, CBE, at a glittering ceremony in London at the beginning of January.

She said: “I would never have had the confidence to talk to people before.

“It feels amazing. I feel like the person I always knew I was. I would say to people looking to make the change to have positive thinking. Believe that you can do it, and you will be able to.

“I am so delighted with what has happened and getting this award simply endorses what it means to me, it’s an external acknowledgement of what I have achieved.”

Anneltje lost the weight in 10 months by swapping her junk food diet for more healthy options and taking up exercise. She now teaches flamenco dancing, goes running and has taken up rowing.

She added: “Living in Oxford, I fell in love with rowing but at nearly 16st I couldn’t have even considered getting into a boat. Now I’ve lost so much weight I row regularly and have just won my second race.”

The new look Anneltje was photographed to appear on the cover of the February edition of the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness magazine.
