Young musicians were given a second chance to perform on stage after the first live event was a big hit in the town.
A second Tune Up! Band Night was held at Redhill’s Harlequin Theatre at the end of November after calls from young people to repeat the first Tune Up! Band Night earlier in the year.
Over 200 people turned up to watch local youth bands show off their talent in the live evenings.
The events were organised by Reigate and Banstead Youth Council with support from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.
All profits from the second event were donated to Children in Need.
Director of Tune Up! and Youth Council member William Dyer said: “In agreement with the Harlequin Theatre, all profits from ticket sales went to Children in Need. The money will be going directly to projects that affect young people up and down the UK.
“This is great news and means that everyone who came to Tune Up! did not only have a great time, but also did their bit for charity.”
Cllr Adam De Save, executive member for healthy communities, said: “Tune Up! received some very positive feedback from young people in July. We were happy to be supporting the event for a second time.
“The Youth Council members have done a fantastic job of recruiting the bands and artists and helping to publicise the event to their peers. The event provides a great activity for young people in the area.”
