Festival For Entrepreneurs is Back In Sheffield

Festival For Entrepreneurs is Back

A festival promoting the idea that entrepreneurs are made, not born, is back for the second time after the huge success of its inaugural event in 2010.

Organisers of MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival, claim it will be even bigger and better than last year. The event in 2010 attracted over 1,000 delegates, from small business owners to aspiring entrepreneurs, international diplomats, media and politicians. Big names at the event included Peter Jones, of Dragons’ Den, and Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP.

The aim of the festival is to bring people together to be inspired, share ideas, meet investors, mentor Start Ups and influence policy.

Brendan Moffett, Creativesheffield strategic marketing director, said improvements are being planned to make this year’s event even more successful.

He added: “Whereas 2010 was very much about start-ups, we are acutely aware that we need to think about SMEs that are already in good markets and could double their turnovers if they made a few of the right moves.

“There will be a significant element dedicated to working with the businesses that we have already got, including looking at how we can encourage employees so that everyone in the business is behaving like an entrepreneur.”

Entrepreneurs already expected to take part in the event include Will King, of King of Shaves, barrister turned Masala Masala curry sauce company founder Priya Lakhani and LOVEFiLM film rental specialist Simon Calver.

The event will take place over four days in September and will include ‘boot camps’, involvement by the StartUp Britain campaign and various masterclasses.
