Homeless hostels benefit from £4,200 donation

There will be a warmer winter for the users of a hostel for homeless people in Slough thanks to the generosity of walkers.

Every Christmas registered Islamic education charity Al-Zohra Education Trust raises funds for hostels for the homeless in London and the South East. The whole idea is to remind homeless people that they have not been forgotten at the time of year that traditionally involves spending time with family.

This year the trust planned a 10km sponsored walk event in Windsor Great Park on December 11th, which raised £4,200.  Around £1,500 was used to buy warm clothing, winter jackets, food supplies and blankets for Slough’s local Look Ahead hostel.
