Project receives award from the National Housing Federation

A community project that works to help vulnerable people in Watford has received an award.

Watford Community Housing Trust has worked with agencies including the Hertfordshire Police on a scheme that aims to help members of the community feel safer in their own homes. The Partnership Protected Areas (PPA) Project won the National Housing Federation ‘What We Are Proud Of’ Award.

The agencies involved in the project help residents with their security, housing, health and safety requirements and introduce them to services that they have not used before.

The aim of the project is to identify vulnerable people and reduce fear of crime in the community.

The PPA scheme also won the Hertfordshire Policy Authority’s Michael Fogarty ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ Award.
