Bury Farm

Located off the A130 between Ford End and Great Waltham, Bury Farm is a quiet Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the county of Essex. Owned by Anne and John, the B&B is a short distance from the historic and charming village of Pleshey. Bury Farm is built to house four guests, has a warm, welcoming ambience and is frequented by business and leisure travellers to Pleshey and Chelmsford.

Breakfast is a healthy, homemade continental style meal, including fresh fruit, delicious homemade bread, fruit juice, and cereal. The Garden Room faces a newly planted flower garden. This establishment is very popular with visitors for its views, roomy nature and comfortable beds.

The Village of Pleshey is about 15-minutes’ walk from Bury Farm. The remains of Pleshey Castle, just beyond The Holy Trinity Church, are what is left of one of the finest motte and bailey castles in England. Built in the early 12th Century, the castle, the town’s restored pump room and farms are places of interest because of their history and early royal association.

The town of Chelmsford is less than 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) from Bury Farm. Bury Farm is an ideal weekend retreat in the country with the Hyde Hall gardens about half an hour’s drive away. The Hanningfield Reservoir is about 35-minutes’ drive away from the hotel. The hotel is ideal for visits to the towns of Braintree and Witham on the A131 and A12 respectively.

A stunning barn conversion successfully mixes clean contemporary lines with warm, hospitable service, clean, old-style country rooms and a location that rivals the best country homes puts Bury Farm very much on the tourist map.
