Ice dance classes launched in Chelmsford by Jeff Brazier

Budding ice skaters and Dancing On Ice fans will now have the opportunity to improve their skating skills with the help if former contestant and TV presenter Jeff Brazier.

31 year old Jeff, who is from Harlow, will be joined by six professional ice skating coaches at Victoria Road’s Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, and will offer people the chance to skate and learn with talented skaters.

Participants will learn basic choreography and a dance routine. They will also be able to see a special routine by Jeff. Other Dancing On Ice stars Laura Hamilton and Chloe Madeley will also be there.

Jeff’s two sons Bobby Jack and Freddie have started ice skating, and Jeff decided to tour the UK doing workshops after he saw how much they enjoyed it.

He said: “They both love ice skating and it is great for them because it gets them doing exercise. I wanted to do this to try to make skating more accessible for people and introduce more people to the sport.

“I also wanted to show a bit of gratitude to the coaches who helped me during the show. This is a pilot run and if it is successful, then we will be coming back to Chelmsford again.”

The one day session in Chelmsford is open to all ages and abilities. Tickets cost £25 for an hour-long session and £50 for a two- hour session. So if you’re interested in improving your skating skills, or even if you’ve never tried it before, why not give it a go!
