Flying start for Robin Cancer Trust

A charitable trust that was founded by the family of Robin Freeman will be hosting a range of fundraising events in the Colchester area. The Robin Cancer Trust was launched in April this year in memory of Robin who died from a form of germ cell cancer in December, aged just 24.

A charity helpline is hoping to be revived after a campaigner launched an online petition. 22 year old Ian Humm of Cowdray Avenue, Colchester wants to do all that he can to support the Dyspraxia Foundation as he suffers from the developmental co-ordination disorder himself.

A Colchester artist is celebrating after one of his paintings was chosen for a national exhibition. 31 year old Graham Webber’s painting ‘Flooded Footpath – Dedham’ put on display at the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize Exhibition.

Specialist trampolining centre for the disabled opens

A trampolining centre for the disabled is to open after battling a storm of opposition. Rosie Pulford finally opened the centre after a two year battle. The centre has seven trampolines for people with head injuries, autism and Down’s Syndrome. 30 year old Rosie said: “It is a huge relief to get this far. At one point we thought it would never happen.
