European members of Parliament are quizzed by students

On the 26th of June, students of schools and colleges in Durham got a chance to ask questions of the Euro MPs that represent their region, in a Question Time style debate.

The event took place in Durham Town Hall and was hosted by the BBC’s Richard Moss.

A wide variety of topics were covered and Fiona Hall, a Liberal Democrat who is one of the North-East’s three MEPs, complimented the students on the depth of understanding and knowledge stating that: “The quality of questions was outstanding”.

A poll of the students was taken at the end of the session and the students voted resoundingly in favour of the UK remaining in the EU.
