Residents sign up for swift project

The Great Exeter Swift Project, a joint project between Devon Wildlife Trust, Exeter City Council and the RSPB is gaining popularity with over 500 local residents joining the campaign. The local volunteers have been helping the project that aims to secure a thriving population of the birds in the area. They have been making nest boxes, installing boxes at their homes, schools and businesses and responding to the project’s swift survey.

Colin joins Doctor date

Doctor Who fans were in for a treat with a themed fundraiser in Devon. Over 1,400 people got out their sonic screwdrivers and attended the charity day at Pecorama model railway exhibition at Beer, near Seaton. The event raised an estimated £4,000. Stars from the BBC series at the event included the sixth Doctor Who, Colin Baker, former assistant Sarah Sutton and special effects wizard Matt Irvine. Choirs unite to open town’s music festival

The Budleigh Music and Arts festival is now in its seventh year and offers two fun filled weeks of the very best in opera, music and other events. Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir are thrilled to be involved and are opening the show along with special guests the Renaissance, a ladies’ barbershop chorus.
