Big Cat Fundraiser

A big cat fundraising evening has been a roaring success. The evening dedicated to cheetahs was held at Paradise Wildlife Park, in White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, and raised £2,000 for conservation projects in the wild. The event was organised by the Wildlife Heritage Foundation and the Friends of Paradise Park.

Teenager In Top Performance

A Hoddesdon teenager will be giving the performance of her life when she sings and dances for hundreds of top politicians. Daisy Cutler, 17, of Ditchfield Road, Hoddesdon, will be performing for 600 politicians at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference at Westminster Hall at the end of July. America’s President Barack Obama recently addressed the Houses of Parliament from the same venue.

Pupils Get Olympic Preview

Hoddesdon pupils got to go to the Olympics early when teams from around the world competed at a test event in the borough. Children from The John Warner School were among 120 young people invited to Lee Valley White Water Centre for the Olympic Canoe Slalom test event at the end of July.

Hoddesdon Girls Head To Cambridge

A group of Hoddesdon schoolgirls have been inspired to take their future into their own hands thanks to a special trip to Cambridge University. The four sixth-form students from The John Warner School attended the overnight Pathways to Success event at Murray Edwards College in Cambridge.
